 Urs e Shaykh Sayyad Sultan Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir, Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu [d. 808H]
The death anniversary of Shaykh Sultan Mir Sayyad Makhdoom Ashraf al-Semnani, May Allah be pleased with him, takes place in the Khanqah al-Ashrafiyya al-Hasaniyya-e-Sarkar al-Kalan with great dignity as well as splendour. Pilgrims flocks from different parts of India and the sub-continent as well as from abroad.
The Ashrafiyya khanqah is packed to capacity as pilgrims besiege Khicchocha Shareef well before the official ceremony begins. All around the shrine of Shaykh Makhdoom al-Simnani, May Allah be pleased with him, a sea of murids (disciples), sunni muslims as well as many non-muslims gather in respect of this ''Friend of Allah'' - wali (saint). They sit, pray and pay homage as well as attend the many functions held in remembrance often heard chanting ''Ya Makhdoom''!
